DMARC policy

What does p=none mean?

Why a monitoring policy is useful—and why it is not the finish line.

Monitoring mode

A DMARC record with p=none asks for reporting while leaving delivery decisions to the receiver. It is a sensible place to discover legitimate and unknown senders.

What happens next

Review reporting, authenticate valid services and resolve failures. Once legitimate mail is ready, move deliberately toward quarantine and reject.

Remaining indefinitely at p=none provides visibility, but not an enforced domain policy.
